Here is an interesting extracts on the development of Final Fantasy Versus XIII from the Japanese Square Enix Twitter page for you (thanks to Final Fantasy-XIII.net for a translation).

What percentage of Versus is done?
Nomura: Things are not connected yet, every part is moving along separately. However, we have gotten airships working over the world map.

Now I can't remember if the airship thing was revealed ages ago (so please forgive me if it has), but I am really excited about that and glad it is making a return to the Final Fantasy series (if it is the free roaming style from Final Fantasy IX and earlier).

According to a few people on the internet, Final Fantasy XIII has been freezing on both PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. I personally have yet to have any issues with the game on my 60GB launch PlayStation 3.

It seems to be isolated cases (from the amount of comments and posts I have seen, no one other then those linked on the posts are having problems.

But if you are having a problem, get in contact with Sony or Microsoft as it would likely be your hardware that is playing up if you have tried other copies of the game and it is still faulty.

Kinda not a surprise but Final Fantasy XIII has come out on top last week as the number one selling game in the UK chart with both PS3 and Xbox 360 SKU's very close to each other with sales.

Not only that but it has become the fastest selling game so far this year toppling all other games released this year.

As you can see Final Fantasy 13 Europe has recently had a revamp in looks (Forums to be updated at a later date).

At the moment there is not much content change but needed to revamp the looks in readiness for the upcoming content on Final Fantasy XIII. For an example of what sort of content to look forward to check out the White Magicks coverage for Final Fantasy XII or Magic Materia for Final Fantasy VII.

You may have also noticed that the layout is now very much like Final Fantasy Skies, I did this because it is a layout that works so why try and fix something that is not broken eh?

Oh and by the way there is a new interactive poll asking which version of Final Fantasy XIII did you order~

Square Enix has revealed their UK release plans with the massive HMV Oxford Street store as the place to go on the 9th March between 5:30pm ~ 7:30pm..

Producer Yoshinori Kitase will be on hand to meet fans, along with art director Isamu Kamikokuryo. DJ and TV presenter Alex Zane will MC the event.

Entry will be free. The first 50 people to turn up in Final Fantasy costumes will receive a free FFXIII soundtrack. Everyone else will get the chance to win other stuff.

At long last the European site has finally been remade to one look pretty and secondly (and I suppose more importantly), fully opened with added Eidolons, Gameplay, Screenshots, new Trailer, Avatars, and Wallpapers.

Only 49 days to go...

According to Square Enix, Final Fantasy XIII has sold over a million copies on day one (so like Kotaku said between 1~1.1 million sounds about right). This apparently is the stand-alone version only as the Lightning Edition was not included in the figures.

The question is will these kind of sales figures happen in Europe and North America? We will have to wait and see.

Final Fantasy XIII is now out in Japan for the PlayStation 3 with hundreds, yes hundreds, of people queing up for the shops opening lanches across Japan (looks like not many midnight releases over there).

Time to wait for our release~ (9th March 2010 don't forget!)
